Calvin E. Hefner, Inc. was incorporated in 1976, when he restored the Elias Overcarsh House in Fourth Ward, then his personal residence.
Calvin credits his professional membership in the American Society of Interior Design (since 1984) with professional relationships around the world, and invaluable ASID National Board experience.
As a two-term ASID Carolinas Chapter President, he developed a strategic plan to bring the sprawling Chapter together: design communities.

Accessible Environments, Inc.
Accessible Environments, Inc. began in 1996,when Calvin saw the need for housing for those living with HIV and AIDS. He launched the Brother's Foundation, and created a residential accessible facility for those with major health complications.
Calvin recently completed National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) training, receiving the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) apellation.
Accessible Environments, Inc is proud partner with NAHB, ASID, and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) to transform a Richfield, NC home into an accessible environment for the winner of the 2009 Recession Remodel contest.
